NEPAL

Economical situation

On the international scale, the global interior product (PIB) has multiplied by 5 in the past 25 years. But this economic growth has not been fruitful for all.
In Southern Asia, 40% of the population (that is to say 522 million people) live below the extreme poverty line. In real terms this means that they have to survive with less than one dollar per day.
According to the human development indicators (income per inhabitant, life expectancy and alphabetization rate), Nepal is among the less developed countries of the world.
57% of the children under 5 are under-nourished
Only 44% of the population has access to drinkable water
Only 6% of the population has access to basic health care services
